About The Role
The areas in IT we are looking for Apprentices are in Service Desk, Cybersecurity, and GRC (Governance Risk & Compliance). The apprentices will gain hands-on experience and knowledge in a professional IT setting, contributing to their development and understanding of the field.
The IT Apprentice – Service Desk Analyst will support the IT department in the maintenance and operation of the company’s computing needs. The role involves assisting in the management of hardware, software, and network systems.
The IT Apprentice – Cybersecurity Analyst role will support the IT Security and Compliance department in the maintenance and operation of the company’s Information Systems and Cybersecurity Tools. The role involves reviewing Information Security events, updating service desk tickets, information gathering, and managing information to be used in business cybersecurity dashboards. The role also involves suggesting improvements in business processes to allow conformance to the many controls that are in place to protect the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of information.
The IT Apprentice – Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) role will support the IT Security and Compliance department in the maintenance and operation of the company’s Information Security Management System. The role involves assisting and suggesting improvements in business processes to allow conformance to the many controls that are in place to protect the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of information.
Key Responsibilities
* Support continual improvement of the Information Security Management System
* Assist in monitoring and analysing security alerts and incidents
* Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools and technologies
* Contribute to compliance monitoring and reporting activities
* Participate in internal and external audits, and/or vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities
* Assist in business continuity planning and disaster recovery exercises, helping to develop and update security policies and procedures
* Support data management and privacy initiatives
* Assist in developing an understanding of the requirements of management systems
* Provide technical support to staff and assist in troubleshooting issues to maintain business operations
* Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT hardware and software
* Support the IT team in the implementation of new technology solutions
* Participate in the documentation of IT processes and user guides
* Collaborate with team members on IT projects and initiatives
* Adhere to information security best practices and data protection regulations
* Understand Castle Water’s Risk Management Framework and assist with Castle Water’s management of risk
* You will be expected to carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required in line with your main duties
* Engage in learning and development opportunities to enhance IT skills and knowledge
* Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards
* Attend off-the-job training and complete coursework for SVQ qualification
* Working with 3rd party stakeholders administrating Vendor Supplier Questionnaires
