We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, forward thinking Specialist Physiotherapist who is keen to develop and advance their clinical skills within a friendly, supportive and innovative environment.
This is a full time permanent post with some evening cliniccover required
Main duties of the job
Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust MSK Physiotherapy service provides a comprehensive range of treatments for patients presenting with a wide variety of MSK related complaints. We operate as part of the Wirral MSK triage service providing assessment and treatment of MSK conditions and referring back to triage for onward investigation where this is identified. We also receive referrals from secondary care with a mixture of orthopeadic, rheumatology and post-operative conditions. Working as an MSK Physiotherapist, you will be required to assess to a high standard and provide a range of quality and evidenced based interventions in a variety of community settings throughout the Wirral peninsula.
You must possess a degree in physiotherapy and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council. You must also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
About us
The MSK service as a whole offers osteopathy, outpatient neurology, hand splinting and access to well-equipped patient gyms. We also have close links to the podiatry service for biomechanical assessments

Experience and knowledge
Essential
1. Broad experience of working in a variety of clinical areas as a physiotherapist, elderly care, neurology, general medicine, orthopaedics, MSK, respiratory care
2. Good knowledge of working in specialist physiotherapy area
3. Knowledge of current best practice in specialist physiotherapy area
4. Knowledge of team / group dynamics and role of a Physiotherapy specialist within a team
5. Evidence of effective working within an MDT
6. Good computer skills
7. Excellent clinical reasoning skills
8. Broad base of clinical physiotherapy knowledge and different approaches required to clinical interventions
9. Knowledge of governance issues
10. Supervision of staff and delegation of tasks
11. Ability to work under own initiative, be adaptable, flexible, compassionate, and approachable
12. Ability to establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with service users and their carers
13. Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
14. Effective communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills
Desirable
15. Clinical experience of working in a related clinical area
16. Experience as a physiotherapist in the NHS and be able to demonstrate awareness of current NHS and organisation issues
17. Respiratory on call competent as relevant to the post being applied for
