An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a leadership role as Lead Vet at a thriving Sheffield practice. This role is ideal for an experienced vet looking to advance into leadership or for a current senior vet seeking a fulfilling new challenge.
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will manage and support the vet team, ensuring high standards of patient and client care while optimizing clinical service uptake and maintaining clinical quality. Key responsibilities include mentoring, participating in the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, patient safety event analysis, and clinical audits. You will collaborate closely with the Clinical Director to provide leadership, training, and guidance to the entire practice team.
This is primarily a clinical role with at least half a day per week allocated for non-clinical duties to focus on management and development responsibilities. Previous experience as a line manager or senior vet is desirable but not essential, making this a fantastic first leadership role for an experienced vet.
The facility features four spacious consulting rooms, two operating theatres, separate cat, dog, and isolation wards, as well as dedicated imaging and dental suites. The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical tools, offering an ideal environment for professional growth. The team includes certificate holders in Dermatology, Feline Medicine, Small Animal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery, and Diagnostic Imaging.
