Job overview
The StaffBank for Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust are seeking enthusiastic Locum Consultant to join our pool of Staff Bank workers. There are many full-time roles available, but as they are ever-changing, the exact roles available will be provided once your hiring & Recruitment is complete. Depending on previous relevant experience & previous NHS experience, higher banding/rates can be discussed. This is an excellent job opportunity for a consultant to gain more experience and skills working within AMU. This role is to work within the St. Helier site for Epsom and St. Helier NHS trust.
Main duties of the job
Specialist physician in Acute Medicine, with an interest in a chosen specialty if desired.
The post is a basic 10 + 0.5 programmed sessions (8 DCC, 0.5 DCC patient admin, 2 SPA). We aim to provide the SPA over 1 day to enable hybrid working.
For those with another specialty interest, there is an opportunity to undertake 2 programmed DCC sessions in the chosen specialty if appropriate following discussion and agreement with specialty department (6.5 Acute Medicine DCC, 2 Specialty DCC, 2 SPA).
There will also be the opportunity to join the GIM on-call rota which provides an additional programmed session.

Method of Assessment
Qualifications and Training
* Hold a medical qualification or qualification registered with the GMC
* Entry onto the Specialist Register for GMC or be within six months of obtaining CCT
* Appropriate higher medical qualification i.e. MRCP/MRCS or equivalent
* MD or equivalent higher degree or evidence of relevant research
Clinical Experience
* High standard of clinical skill and expertise in the specialty
* Able to contribute to the full range of skills required for the on-call rota for the specialty
Management & Administrative Experience
* Has attended a recognised management training event or will have such training on completion of CCT
* Personal time management skills
* Familiarity with issues of service organisation and development
Teaching Experience
* Experience of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees
* Experience of teaching basic clinical skills to undergraduates/post graduates
* Experience of teaching Lay groups and other staff groups
* Ability to supervise postgraduate research
Research Experience
* Ability to apply research findings to clinical problems
* Ability to critically review research
* Publications in peer-reviewed journals
