About the Role: We are currently seeking a full-time SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Dawlish. This school caters for over 200 students aged 3-19. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping these young learners reach their full potential both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored support to students with communication and interaction difficulties, autism, and other learning needs
2. Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
3. Build positive relationships with students to encourage their confidence and independence
4. Help to implement individual learning plans and deliver one-on-one or group support
5. Support students in developing social and life skills within both classroom and residential settings
The Ideal Candidate Will:
1. Have experience or a passion for working with children or young people with SEN
2. Be patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting the needs of all students
3. Be able to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
4. Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues alike
