Here at Hays, we are recruiting for a Production Planning & Materials Manager to join an independent UK manufacturingpany based in North Yorkshire. From bespoke one-off designs to low-volume manufacture, the business enjoys a unique place within its sector thanks to its application of groundbreaking technologies that drive the industry forward. This role is paying £50,000 per annum depending on experience, with 5 days required on site with some flexibility. For this role you will be reporting to the Operations Director, with the purpose of the role is to create and implement a best practice capacity planning vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures in line with ERP/MRP systems to aid and improve operational importance. Key skills/responsibilities:
1. Responsible for material demand planning and stock control
2. Responsible for the efficiency and utilisation of available plant hours incorporating planning maintenance cycles.
3. Responsible for ensuring that capacity planning is fully integrated within the ERP/MRP systems.
4. Lead capacity planning activities ensuring delivery against operational requirements, and which optimise manufacturing efficiency and costs.
5. Refine systems and methods to continually improve plans so that the organisation can better anticipate customer needs, maximising planning input into tender and PCAF stages.
6. Manage deviations from the plan that have financial impact, liaising withmercial and finance departments.
7. Monitor key manufacturing processes and data to identify capacity constraints and trends.
8. Extensive experience within a factory planning role.
9. Support and advise on best practices for the implementation of the new IFS ERP.
Experience/Qualifications required:
10. Degree (engineering or business) level preferred, although professional Six Sigma or lean qualifications or equivalent are accepted.
11. Experience in a factory planning role, preferably within aposite manufacturing or aerospace/defence environment.
12. Have good working knowledge of MS Office based applications.
13. Ideally, have working experience of Max and IFS MRP and implementation.
14. Confident individual with a strong ability to create and build close working relationships.
15. To be self-motivated with the ability to produce accurate work and meet tight deadlines.
16. Excellent analytical skills.
