Job purpose
To assist the Events and Advertising Officer in maximising income potential supporting the aims of Climate, Energy and Greenspaces with a range of organisations.
Responsibilities
* To promote, develop, implement and review sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
* To help identify potential new business partnership opportunities.
* To represent the Climate, Energy and Greenspace in appropriate negotiations with relevant organisations, respond to enquiries and provide guidance in respect of potential sponsorship opportunities.
* To prepare and manage advertising agreements in support of funding opportunities.
* To install and maintain sponsored sites and signs.
* To ensure that records of business partnership agreements, opportunities and payments are made and kept up to date.
* To use Leeds City Council’s financial systems to raise invoices and orders as required.
* To ensure effective consultation mechanisms.
* To compile and provide performance information that is accurate and timely as requested.
* To represent the Climate, Energy and Greenspaces at all appropriate internal and external meetings.
* To fulfil duties in line with the Parks and Green Space Strategy and related strategies and service objectives and in support of the aims of the Leeds Strategic Plan and Council Business Plan.
* To undertake other duties as may be required from time to time.
* To ensure the procurement of goods and services is in accordance with financial regulations, corporate policy and legal requirements.

Skills Required
* An ability to input data and keep accurate records.

* Good sales, negotiation, and diplomacy skills.

* An ability to manage and prioritise multiple and conflicting tasks and work schedules to meet tight deadlines.
* An ability to use geographic mapping systems.
* An ability to undertake practical work outdoors, on site in adverse weather conditions.
Knowledge Required
* Knowledge of local government decision making processes.
Experience Required
* Preparation and presentation of information at diverse levels e.g. to partners, elected members and the public.
* Provision of high-quality detailed responses within short time scales.
* Experience in managing information and report writing.
* Experience of working with business clients and colleagues.
* More than one year’s experience of undertaking general administration work.
* Experience of using a geographic information system.
* Experience of undertaking sales, marketing, and promotion activities.
Qualifications
Essential requirements:
* Full current driving license.
* 2 GCSEs grade A – C or 4 - 9, including mathematics and English.

Desirable requirements
It is desirable that the candidate should be able to demonstrate the following criteria. Candidates are not required to meet all the desirable requirements however these may be used to distinguish between candidates.
* BTEC Level 3 qualification in marketing, sales, business studies or equivalent experience.
* Experience of using a geographic information system.
* Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation e.g New Road and Street Works Act (NRASWA), Training will be provided.
