A little more about your role...
We are seeking to recruit a Senior Engineer to join our Lighting & Energy Solutions team based in our London and South East Regional offices.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of significant projects based on the Westminster City Council Public Lighting Contract working on large public realm improvement and highways maintenance projects based in a prestigious area of London working for our local government end client and in partnership with FM Conway.
As Senior Engineer you will support the Westminster City Council Lighting Design Manager in delivering quality control and assurance to the project management processes for the day-to-day operation of the Lighting asset management. In doing so you will follow agreed Local Government systems and processes.
A typical week:
You will be required to assist with the document control for all documents received and issued from the team. Duties will include:
1. Dealing with general day to day project administration tasks that come out of the team;
2. Stakeholder Support;
3. Procurement - Purchase Orders and invoicing;
4. Management of Rechargeable Job Orders (RJO) process, including site visits, monitoring; programming and management of delivery programmes;
5. Assisting the Project Manager in carrying out Reviews and delivering outcome reports;
6. Minor lighting designs using Lighting Reality design software;
7. Festive decoration/attachment/wifi third party attachment process;
8. Use of Urban Control database;
9. Monitoring of night scout programme;
10. Site visits including checking if columns and feeder pillars for safe installations (G39 and ECS card required); and
11. Involvement with the checks and upgrades on the market trader isolated pitches.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate...
1. Registration with the Engineering Council (EngTech, IEng or CEng)
2. Proficient in the use of Lighting Reality Design Software and AutoCAD.
3. Have a good Electrical design and operations Knowledge and understanding;
4. Are able to demonstrate competency and experience within a lighting design project;
5. Able to coach and mentor junior members of the design team;
6. A good understanding of central management systems;
7. Are able to work independently, and as part of a team;
8. Can prioritise and be flexible;
9. Experience of working within the Local Government sector;
10. You should have fluent spoken and written English and have good level of IT skills.
