What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Secondary teacher of English, or Primary teacher with a passion for English, to join our dynamic and highly successful school.
You will be joining our friendly and forward-thinking school at a very exciting time; a school that genuinely values the well-being of all and one that is committed to supporting your ongoing professional development.
Kirkburton Middle School is a thriving, over-subscribed and truly unique school which caters for pupils between the ages of 10 and 13. We work in strong partnership with Scissett Middle School so staff and pupils benefit from the resources of a large school and the personal touch of a small school. Teachers in both of our schools can really teach as pupils have outstanding behaviours, matched with a zest for learning. We encourage our staff to take risks and enjoy their teaching as we believe this leads to strong relationships and exceptional progress.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop a strong understanding of the journey from KS2 to KS3 and beyond, working alongside experienced primary, middle and secondary teachers. We also work very closely with feeder first schools and our local high school.
You will:
• Be a highly effective classroom teacher
• Be organised and committed
• Have a strong moral purpose which puts pupils at the centre of everything
• Believe in high achievement for all
• Be committed to the extra-curricular life of the school
