Role Definition
To support the Livestock Team in ensuring the livestock purchased meet all group, site, and suppliers' standards. Ensure relationships with farmers, livestock agents, and suppliers are maintained to a good level. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and process-driven individual who has a real interest in the meat industry and livestock as part of the food chain, ensuring animal welfare is maintained and sheep are processed in line with legislative requirements.

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm including break

The role involves:
1. Ensure livestock purchased meets production requirements and are in line with production plans to meet the needs of the customer, including pre-delivery farm assurance and organic status where required.
2. Manage the administration of payments and farmer paperwork, ensuring both are accurate and completed in set time frames.
3. Co-ordinate with livestock agents, farmers, and other livestock suppliers for the supply of Lambs & Ewes.
4. Learn and maintain knowledge of lairage and abattoir operations.
5. Carry out farm visits for Sheep selection, maintaining relationships with farmers, including producer group meetings.
6. Ensure livestock deliveries are to schedule.
7. Actively negotiate prices and develop partnerships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
8. Contribute to the recording and maintenance of slaughter information and data.
9. Ensure the team always adheres to the current animal welfare legislation and company operating procedures with regard to safe movements, handling, and production.
