We are supporting our client, a leading global technology manufacturer based in North Shields, who are looking for a CNC Turner to join their growing team. The successful CNC Turner will have experience in programming, setting and operating turning machines.
Position Overview: The CNC Turner will report to the Tool Room Manager and will use CNC lathes to produce dies and machine parts to directly support the production areas of the business.
Responsibilities for CNC Turner:
* Programming, setting and operating Doosan 2100 & 2600 twin spindle lathes.
* Manufacturing tooling for use in compression and injection moulding to high tolerances.
* Participating in continuous improvement activities in the tool room.
* Maintaining and managing supply of consumables.
* Working under your own initiative to interpret engineering drawings.
* Solving engineering problems to deliver on production timelines.
* Flexibly adapting to shifting priorities.
About You:
* Time served apprenticeship in CNC turning.
* Significant additional post-training experience as a CNC Turner.
* Experience programming and setting twin spindle lathes.
* Can read and programme using FANUC.
* Can interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience using FeatureCam software is desirable.
* HNC in Mechanical or General Engineering is desirable.
* Experience setting and operating 5-axis machines is desirable.
* Experience using live tooling for milled features is desirable.
