SEMH Learning Mentor
Veritas are currently working with one of our partner schools in Barnsley, to help them find a specialist SEMH Learning mentor to support them with their social, emotional and mental health challenges. In this role you will provide more 1:1 targeted intervention for pupils to help them with the day to day emotional challenges they face.
The role:
Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions to support pupils in our partner school.
Help develop and deliver behavioural support plans tailored to each students' individual needs.
Collaborate with the SENDCO and other teaching staff to create plans to improve classroom behaviour and make it a positive and engaging earning environment for all.
Help students coping mechanisms and resilience to help them cope with the SEMH.
Monitor the pupils progress consistently and adapt their interventions based on your assessments.Ideal Candidate
Experience working with SEMH students and confident in dealing with difficult behaviour
Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques, and de-escalation strategies
Ability to build strong trust and rapport with pupils to encourage positive changed to their behaviour
Teach Team Training.Application Requirements
