JOB TITLE: Sustainability Manager

LOCATION: Bristol Innovation Centre (BIC), Old Weston Rd, Flax Bourton. BS48 1UL

Purpose of role:
FSC is a family business with more than 35 years of award-winning experience in creating, rolling out and managing bespoke customer food-on-the-move solutions.Our customers include a selection of global blue-chip companies in various industries, such as Shell, National Trust and Dunelm.
We are proud to be a B-Corp and have led the F2G industry in the use of LCA carbon footprints. We have built a system that calculates impact in real time for every recipe we develop and encourage customers to use on pack carbon labels to drive consumer awareness.
The Sustainability Manager will be based at our Innovation Centre and be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to build and lead sustainable practices within FSC Group. The role will be the owner and key influencer regarding sustainability both internally and within the wider food industry. As such, will be expected to build on the current systems to continue to deliver industry leading sustainable solutions.
The role will involve:
Delivering new sustainable ways of working across all aspects of our business:
Setting a clear strategy with SBT to continually improve sustainability within FSC
Embedding our current ESG systems into all aspects of the business
Building and delivering a sustainability focused advisory service for our customers
Working closely with our suppliers and customers to influence sustainable improvements
Calculating and reporting key company metrics (e.g. Scope 1 & 2 emissions for offset)
Building and maintaining an extensive external network of sustainability expertise
Guiding the company on changes in ESG legislation across all sales territories
Attending key sustainability events and working groups
Acting as a sustainability ambassador for FSC by speaking at key events
Supporting Agile teams regarding sustainability during product development
Managing the B-Corp reporting and certification process
Managing third party software contracts such as My Emissions
Reporting key data on customers own sustainability platforms
Promoting a positive friendly can do attitude within the company
Performing any other duties and objectives as required from time to time to contribute effectively to the achievement of the business aims and objectives
Qualifications (academic and work-related)
Essential
Valid driving licence
Science based degree
Preferred
Degree level qualification in Sustainability or similar discipline
Experience
5+ years experience in sustainability within FMCG
Experience of calculating Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
Experience in working in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple categories
Experience of working with industry and NGO groups regarding sustainability
