Home PhD Fully Funded PhD Scholarship in Gene Editing, Cranfield University, UK
PhD Scholarship in Gene Editing: Cranfield University, in collaboration with Azolla Biotech Ltd., is offering a fully funded Ph.D. scholarship for a research project focused on employing advanced molecular genetics techniques to identify and manipulate key genes and pathways that confer salt tolerance in legumes. The successful candidate will work towards designing crops that can contribute to food security in vulnerable regions and enhance soil quality using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing and Agrobacterium-mediated transformation methods.
Fully Funded PhD Scholarship in Gene Editing to Improve Salt Tolerance in Legumes
Designation: Ph.D. Research Student
Research Area: Gene Editing to Improve Salt Tolerance in Legumes
Location: Cranfield University, UK
Eligibility/Qualification:
Applicants should hold a first or second class UK honours degree or equivalent in a related discipline, such as Plant Science, Crop Science, Genetics, or a more general Biology background with an interest in molecular genetics and crop improvement.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will conduct research to identify and manipulate key genes and pathways that confer salt tolerance in legumes. This will involve employing advanced molecular genetics techniques, CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, and Agrobacterium-mediated transformation methods. The research aims to genetically improve the resilience and yield of legume crops under saline conditions and test their performance under controlled glasshouse conditions.
How to Apply:
