Job Title: Finance Assistant including Purchase Ledger/ Accounts Payable tasks
Project: Finance
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Pension: Up to 9% (non-contractual)
Contract: Permanent
Hours required: 28 hours per week (0.6 FTE)
Location: Yeovil - [Hybrid pilot scheme of 40% home working]
Holiday: 23 days plus bank holidays pro rata
Salary: £14 per hour
Parking: On-site parking possibly available
Job Context:
We are looking for a full or part qualified AAT person to join the small finance team & meet its reporting & audit requirements.
Job Purpose:
To provide finance and administrative support to the Finance & Deputy Finance Manager.
Main Tasks:
* Processing approx. 125 purchase invoices per month
* Coding of purchase invoices by nominal/department
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Supplier queries
* Management of “finance” shared email inbox
* Gaining approval of supplier invoices – using workflow software
* Prepare BACS payment runs twice monthly
* Prepare upload journals to accounts software from information given
* Ad hoc purchasing of resources
* Banking of cash and cheques
* Sundry sales invoices
* Other tasks as deemed appropriate – including payroll support
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain clear financial records using SAGE 50 accounting system & Excel
* Supporting the finance team
* To work as an integral part of the finance team, helping Mind in Somerset meet its commercial and financial objectives.
* Ideas for continuous improvement within area of expertise
* Carrying out ad hoc tasks as considered appropriate, by the Finance Manager
* Assist with integration of new software in January 2025 for invoice capture and workflow approvals.

Payroll experience
Experience and Qualifications:
* PQ AAT desirable, 2+ years’ experience
* Good Excel skills
* Office 365 including Teams & Sharepoint
* Charity finance experience – desirable but not essential
* Sage 50 experience – desirable
* Sage auto entry / AP automation experience / iComleat- desirable
