Purpose: Here at Deichmann, we are looking to appoint a Cover Manager based at our store in Leicester covering stores across Leicester, Rugby, and Coventry.
This is a full-time, permanent position, paying a competitive salary!
What is a Cover Manager?
1. Our Cover Managers are our fast track, high potential managerial talent!
2. After initial training, Cover Managers build their understanding of how Deichmann stores operate, by providing managerial cover across a cluster of stores.
3. For this particular role, the stores you will cover/support after training include: Leicester, Rugby, Coventry, and additional stores considered to be within a reasonable commuting distance.
4. You must be able to travel within a defined geographical area.
5. On completion of training, Cover Managers are in an ideal position to be promoted to Store Manager.
This is a really exciting opportunity for a successful and ambitious individual looking to progress their career in retail, initially supporting or managing one or more of our stores, before being appointed to Store Manager.
Ideal candidate:
1. Our ideal Cover Manager will have previous experience at supervisor/management level within a retail setting or similar and are keen to progress their career in store management.
2. You will be fully flexible in terms of travel in order to work across a number of different locations.
3. Have previous experience of working in a managerial or supervisory role in retail or a related sector.
4. Be able to problem solve and think on your feet.
5. A people person with the ability to plan and co-ordinate resources in order to deliver exceptional customer service.
Key activities:
1. Motivate and coach the team to deliver excellent customer service.
2. Lead by example in promoting and recommending complimentary shoe care products, demonstrating confidence with selling and excellent product knowledge, ensuring the very best level of customer service.
3. Resourcing/drafting rotas, working within budget.
4. Stock management.
5. Use reports effectively.
6. Ensure all company standards are implemented and maintained i.e., merchandising, admin.
7. Delivery of KPI’s, meeting all company standards.
8. Recruitment and development of the team.

1. Hands-on leader, with experience in retail or a related industry sector.
2. Have a positive flexible approach with a can-do attitude.
3. Ability to work under pressure, in a demanding fast-paced environment.
4. Have the confidence and ability to motivate, coach and inspire the team.
5. Attention to detail.
6. Good communicator.
7. Methodical & organised with a structured approach to work.
8. Be numerate and good with figures.
9. Be fully flexible across the week.
