A large UK cable supplier is seeking an Operations Manager to manage staff, company equipment and stock. The Operations Manager will have excellent leadership and managerial experience and skills. In addition, the Operations Manager will have ideally worked in the logistics or warehouse sector, but it is essential to also have health and safety knowledge, and good communication, time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Applications from ex-military personnel are strongly encouraged Key Responsibilities: Managing daily activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently. Supervising warehouse employees, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring proper staffing levels. Ensuring accurate stock levels, conducting cycle counts, and implementing inventory management systems. Identifying areas for efficiency improvement, implementing best practices, and reducing waste. Enforcing workplace health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Managing inbound and outbound shipments, coordinating with suppliers, and optimizing transportation costs. Overseeing maintenance of warehouse equipment (forklifts, conveyor systems) and ensuring facility upkeep. Managing operational budgets, controlling expenses, and maximizing cost-effectiveness. Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and labour efficiency. Collaborating with procurement, vendors, and logistics partners for seamless operations. Ensuring staff receives ongoing training in warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and operational best practices.
