An exciting opportunity has arisen on Dermatology for a Health Care Assistant to join our team.

Dermatology is an 8 inpatient unit for many patients suffering from a wide range of Dermatology conditions. Our aim is to provide the best patient-centered care and continue to provide amazing services such as daycare, outpatient, and inpatient all under the same building.
In addition to the inpatients, we have multiple daycare patients coming in throughout the day from 8am - 8pm.
We are open Monday - Friday for inpatient services and daycare at the weekend.
Our band 2s will have the opportunity to work in a ward and clinical setting and rotate through these to build up skills in these different areas.

Main duties of the job
1. To assist Registered Nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team in implementing patients’ care plans.
2. Also undertake some clerical and domestic duties to ensure a safe environment.
3. This would be a training post to gain the necessary skills in Dermatology to assist in theatre and topical treatments.

Person specification
Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
* Level 2 qualification (e.g. GCSE Grade A-C, NVQ2) in Health & Social Care OR a good standard of general education to GCSE level with the agreement to undertake the relevant L2 qualification on appointment.
* Completion of the Care Certificate theory and practice standards within 12 weeks of commencing employment with the Trust.
* Experience working in a clinical environment.
* Experience working in the NHS.
Knowledge and Skills
* Previous experience and training of manual handling patients using appropriate equipment.
* Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of promoting patient independence.
* Able to provide support and reassurance to patients.
Personal Attributes
* Understand when to seek support and advice.
* Aware of personal and professional limitations.
* Ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* A positive attitude and ability to act on feedback.
* Polite, friendly, approachable, and self-motivated.

The amount would vary depending on the level required: Standard Disclosure £21.50+£6.50 or Enhanced Disclosure £49.50+£6.50 (please be aware the additional sum is an administration fee and may increase due to inflation). This will be deducted from your salary in manageable monthly instalments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.
