Job overview
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist in the Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Sussex Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS). This role may consider a Band 5 development role to Band 6 for a suitable candidate, supported by the leadership team within the first 12 months of employment.

We are a family-based service working across Sussex County with children, young people, and their parents/carers/family members to treat Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Atypical Anorexia Nervosa. This role will be based at Aldrington Centre, Hove, and will involve some travel across the Sussex area.
Main duties of the job
This role requires staff to work as an OT alongside some lead practitioner responsibilities and provide 1-1 and group interventions. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with service users and their families on your caseload to create care plans that meet their needs and maximize their participation in everyday life.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to complete robust clinical assessments, effectively support and reduce risk, inclusive care and treatment planning, as well as robust caseload management.

Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in occupational therapy
* Registration with the HCPC as an occupational therapist
* Evidence of post-graduate level study/training
Knowledge and experience
* Experience as a qualified occupational therapist in mental health and eating disorders
* Broad experience of working with clients with a range of mental health problems
* Experience of multidisciplinary working
Skills
* Able to communicate complex condition-related information to service users, carers, and colleagues
* Work with others in the development of knowledge, ideas, and work practices including policies and strategies
* Ability to use Trust IT systems including e-mail and electronic clinical records (standard keyboard skills)
Approach and Values
* Demonstrate support for the values and beliefs of the Care Group and those of the Trust
* Ability to travel across sites
