Jackson Hogg Procurement are pleased to be exclusively partnering with an electronics manufacturer in Northumberland on the appointment of a Buyer to join their procurement team. This is a full time and permanent role and can offer a competitive salary and package.
Working in a team of 7, this Buyer will be responsible for direct components and manage a small global supplier base. Due to this, experience in purchasing electronic components would be desirable.
My client currently offers 1 day per week WFH with 4 days in the office. Hours can be flexible Monday to Thursday with start times between 07:30-09:30 and Friday hours are set at 08:00-13:00.

The Role:
* Inventory control for all materials.
* Place purchase orders for sufficient product to be delivered at the correct time that meets with the quality standards specified.
* Chase up delinquent suppliers in terms of late delivery to ensure that there are no production line stoppages.
* Ensure all materials are of the correct specification and quality.
* Raise any raw a material issues that could affect production with the site.
* Reduce costs and inventory without causing problems to quality or customer service.
* Make sure EFAC’s is correct relating to information on suppliers within your remit.
* Expedite suppliers to ensure that materials are delivered in line with our requirements.
* Ensure that all materials are of the correct specification and quality as dictated by internal procedures, design specifications and documentation.
* Analyse the Material Supply Chain and achieve cost reductions.
Person Specification:
* You must have experience of working as a Buyer in a high-volume manufacturing company.
* You will have good negotiation, problem solving, organisation and planning skills to deal with problems and find solutions.
* Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing, with an understanding of electronic components
