They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The ideal candidate will have a background in the Financial Services sector and a minimum of 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience. Job Description
As Accounts Payable Clerk, your key duties will include:
* Verify that all invoices are properly approved and categorised, ensuring they are coded to the correct accounts and matched with corresponding purchase orders or receipts for accurate payment processing.
* Handle the accurate entry and posting of inter-company invoices within the SAP system, ensuring compliance with company policies and international financial standards.
* Proactively liaise with vendors to request any missing or overdue invoices, ensuring that all payables are accounted for and processed in a timely manner.
* Accurately track and apply any prepayments made to vendors, ensuring they are recorded in SAP and reflected correctly in financial reports.
* Perform regular vendor account reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded, resolving any discrepancies between internal records and vendor statements.
* Support the finance team with month-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Accounts Payable Clerk should have:
* Experience posting invoices in SAP R/3 (or similar) both with and without purchase orders, as required
* Experience processing employee expense claims
* Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
* AAT qualification or studying towards it is desirable
* Minimum of two to three years' experience as an Accounts Payable Assistant in a busy finance environment with overseas subsidiaries
* Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
* Excellent time management and workload efficiency skills
* High attention to detail
* Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and advanced functions
* Willingness to go the extra mile to prevent mistakes and identify opportunities for improved efficiency
