Reporting directly to the Assistant General Manager for Critical Care, along with the Scheduling and Operations Manager (SOM) for Anaesthesia and Theatres, you'll be at the heart of the action, leading, motivating, and developing a talented team dedicated to delivering top-notch administrative support to our medical teams.
In this highly impactful role, you’ll manage day-to-day operations within key clinical departments, working closely with clinical directors, matrons, and other senior management members. You’ll oversee budgets (pay and non-pay), Health & Safety, and Human Resources, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Main duties of the job
As the point of contact for senior management, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations for Critical Care and Anaesthesia, ensuring smooth administrative functions and supporting the achievement of performance targets. You'll work closely with the Scheduling and Operations Manager to maintain best practice patient bookings and optimise clinic and theatre utilisation. Your role will involve managing waiting lists, patient tracking, and ensuring data quality, while liaising with clinicians to arrange additional capacity when necessary.
You will be responsible for recruiting and managing Resident Doctors, overseeing their on-call rotas, and ensuring smooth team operations. Additionally, you’ll lead the development and training of administrative staff, monitor key performance indicators, and seek cost-saving opportunities to improve overall efficiency. Your focus will be on maintaining high service standards, supporting process improvements, and contributing to the delivery of outstanding healthcare.
Collaboration is key – you will work with various departments to streamline processes, manage health and safety risks, and support IT and office adaptations. You’ll also play an integral role in service redesign projects, ensuring that care delivery continues to improve in both quality and timeliness.
