Lead Assistant Technical Officer - Stores and Distribution

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Pharmacy Stores and Distribution team as a Band 4 Lead ATO, supervising the fundamental day-to-day activities within the team. We are looking for a motivated individual who has previous experience within a stores/warehouse environment and is enthusiastic to help to develop this role.
You will deputise for the Lead Technician when required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to co-ordinate various functions of the Stores and Distribution team, develop efficient ways of working, and work closely alongside the other stakeholders within the pharmacy directorate.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills when co-ordinating workflow and staffing whilst ensuring turnaround times are adhered to
2. Completion of the Silver connects leadership course
3. To complete relevant GDP training
4. Lead and actively participate in departmental team briefs
5. Become a line manager - plan and organise appraisals, produce personal development plans and follow sickness management processes
6. Work together with the other band 4 ATO to support the Lead Pharmacy Technician - Stores and Distribution in the day-to-day operational management of the stores / distribution service
The previous experience we are looking for as follows:
Significant recent experience of working within a stores or warehousing environment
Stock control experience
Supervising and training staff
Previous experience of using inventory management computer systems
Communication with internal and external stakeholders
Implementation of improvements within a team or department

7. NVQ level 2 in Pharmaceutical Services or equivalent with additional substantial relevant experience.
8. Four GCSE's grade C/4 or above (including English, Maths)

9. A levels in a science related field

11. Have IT Skills with experience of using computer systems and applications
12. Experience of leading and supervising other members of a team
13. Experience of investigating queries and customer complaints

17. Experience of working in a hospital pharmacy stores and distribution department.
18. Experience of working in a medicines distribution service with a MHRA wholesaler dealer's licence.

20. Experience of working with Pharmacy automated dispensing units pharmacy robot, Omnicell
21. Experience of working with a Pharmacy computer system JAC or EMIS (ASCRIBE)
