Main duties of the job

Qualifications
Essential
* Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Level 1) or qualified Operating Department Practitioner with HPC registration or Anaesthetic Nurse (ENB 182/183 or equivalent).
Desirable
* Teaching qualification.
* NVQ assessor.
* Willingness to train as a mentor.
Experience
Desirable
* Previous theatre experience at Band 5.
Knowledge
Essential
* Demonstrate awareness of current issues in health care.
* Demonstrate awareness of NHS standards of Professional Practice.
Desirable
* Demonstrate awareness of theatre specialty, and/or specific needs of patients undergoing surgical procedures.
* Demonstrate awareness of evidence-based practice within a Theatre environment.
* Demonstrate understanding of Health and Safety / COSHH.
