A vacancy has arisen for a full time, enthusiastic Senior Registered Nurse to join the leadership team at Sunshine House and be instrumental in managing the day to day running and training needs of the service. Sunshine House provides respite for children and young people, aged 0-18 years, with complex disabilities and health needs. The service operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and the successful candidate will be expected to work across a range of shifts to meet the needs of the service. You will have the opportunity to lead and develop new skills within an innovative and creative environment. You will also teach parents, carers and other health professionals as required, and will mentor pre- and post-registration students. Support will be provided from the clinical managers within the service to enable you to drive change, ensure the delivery of safe care of a high standard, and help the team meet business plan objectives.
As an integral member of the team, the post holder will demonstrate excellent communication and clinical skills and have some nursing experience working alongside children, as well as being flexible to work with different staff teams providing nursing care across Hull & East Riding. The role is predominantly based at Sunshine House but will incorporate caring for children and their families within a range of environments including mainstream and special needs schools, home, and other care or respite settings, as required. The service covers children with acute and complex conditions including palliative and end of life care when needed, special school nursing and support of acute and chronic continence conditions.
