Job Summary
We are seeking a Head of Site to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our Aylesham site, which includes sports bars, event bar, gym, sports pitches, hireable rooms, and community activities. In this role, you will lead the team to deliver great service across all areas while ensuring the site is safe, compliant, well-maintained, and a great place for people to visit. You will ensure your team is motivated and helping generate the maximum income potential for the site to ensure sustainable operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness across the site.
Responsibilities

2. Grow the income of the site in all areas of operation to ensure sustainability.
3. Manage costs of the site, particularly delivering staffing costs target and gross profit.
4. Ensure the site is safe and compliant.
5. Maintain a welcoming site that the community enjoys using and sees as beneficial.
6. Build a strong team who are invested in the centre and gain regular development.
7. Actively deliver services to our customers (bar).
Safety and Compliance

2. Ensure site and operations are safe at all times through regular due diligence, staff training, and business walks, ensuring risk assessments are followed.
3. Act on issues identified in your own due diligence checks as well as safety manager audits, executive audits, and SLT business walks.
4. Ensure COSHH is correctly handled, used, and stored.
5. Request marketing material through the correct channel.
6. Request reactive maintenance and follow up.
7. Request site improvement.
8. Work with the maintenance team to ensure the maintenance schedule is followed.
9. Ensure all cash is recorded and secured, assisting in investigating any variances.
10. Ensure food and drink areas maintain 5-star EHO standards.
11. Ensure the site is always cleaned to a high standard and customers are impressed.
Bookings
1.
2. Check site bookings on our online booking system and follow procedures to confirm the booking with the client and ensure the correct payments are made.
3. Ensure all upcoming bookings are planned for in a written plan available to all staff, each week, with roles clearly allocated and a rota to match.
4. Ensure resources for booking are in place, and catering requests are made.
5. Where key booking slots are not filled, propose business plans for events and, if approved, fund these to generate income.
6. Proactively seek out potentially new regular hirers.
Bar
1.
2. Ensure licensing objectives are met.
3. Ensure bar areas are cleaned and presentable, including cellars and lines.
4. Ensure staff are trained on stock controls, service standards, perfect serve, and licensing.
5. Have a robust system in place to deliver GP targets.
6. Ensure all events have bar risk assessments and the required staff are in place for this.
7. Ensure stock is ordered for events and received on the EPOS system.
Staffing
1.
2. Check that rotas for your team have been set up and published 2 weeks in advance.
3. Plan with the head of trading arrangements to cover sickness and absence.
4. Work with the head of trading operations to recruit gaps in the team within budget.
5. Ensure staff have required training to excel in their role.
6. Ensure staff have regular reviews and are supported on the career pathway.
7. Ensure staff actively safeguard users and follow the safeguarding policy at all times.
Leisure (Gyms, Café, Soft play, Climbing wall, and pitches)

2. Ensure leisure areas are clean, safe, and meet brand standards.
3. Ensure sufficient staff are in place to run service within set operational times.
4. Maximise leisure income through high standards and effective marketing.
5. Work to ensure all service users pay fully for services.
Community
1.
2. Deliver the set community activities delegated to site teams to brand standard and improve based on service lead feedback.
3. Facilitate the community team providing services by ensuring that spaces are prepared and, when required within the staff plan, provide required supporting staff.
4. Promote community activities within the centres.
Experience
- Proven experience in managing and supervising teams
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Previous experience in operational management is desirable
Job Type: Full-time
Working hours are 40 hours per week, over 5 days, which must include evening and weekend working, as part of the shift mix to meet business needs.
Pay: £25,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
