Lead Engineer - Fixed Gas Detection Systems- Full Time Location: Verwood, DOR, BH31 6AZ Location: Based in the Midlands Ability to travel across the UK. (Mandatory) We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a Fixed Gas Detection Lead Engineer. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for both proactive and reactive maintenance on a variety of gas detection systems at client sites. This includes, but is not limited to, routine calibration, troubleshooting, repairs, and system commissioning. You will also train and shadowing other field service engineers and forming method statements for servicing and maintaining various manufacturer’s systems in accordance with their manuals. What you'll need: Conduct proactive and reactive maintenance on a variety of manufacturers' fixed gas detection systems at client sites. Perform routine calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs, and commissioning. Training and shadowing other field-based engineers. Developing method statements to service and maintain different manufacturers' systems according to the relevant manuals. Be on standby for emergency call outs (approximately 10-12 per year; varies). Travel across the UK 3-5 days a week. Experience you'll need: Current qualification to maintain Crowcon fixed gas detection systems. (Mandatory) At least 2 years of experience working on fixed gas detection systems in a field-based role, including troubleshooting, repairs, and commissioning. (Mandatory) Full UK driving License. Ability to travel across the UK. (Mandatory) Flexibility to respond to customer call outs, including outside standard working hours. (Mandatory) Compex certification for working on ATEX-certified equipment. (Advantageous) BS7671 18th Edition certification for installations. (Advantageous) Current or previous qualifications to maintain GDS, MSA, Drager, BW, and/or other manufacturers' fixed gas detection systems. (Beneficial) Experience in scoping and installing new fixed gas detection systems, including client handover. (Beneficial) ECITB CCNSG. (Beneficial) EUSR Water Hygiene. (Beneficial) Confined Space Medium Risk certification. (Beneficial) Working Schedule: 40 hours a week Monday to Friday with overtime as required. Able to travel 3-5 days a week.
