Citizens Advice East Devon is seeking Board Members to join its Management Committee What difference will you make? We will provide you with the pride of being a part of a forward thinking community charity that gives the most vulnerable members of our society hope and dignity. We also empower everyone in our communities with the advice and support that they need on their rights and their responsibilities. We see around 5,000 people each year and we help them to maximise their incomes, restructure and reduce their debts and help them with complicated forms and processes. Last year we saw our clients benefit by almost £3million. What are we looking for? We are actively looking for people with at least 3 years business, professional or charity background who have something special that they can bring to our organisation. You’ll need to understand and accept the responsibilities and liabilities as a Board member be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own have good listening, verbal and written communication skills be able to exercise good independent judgment have good numeracy skills to understand accounts with the support of the treasurer be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection be willing to undertake training in your role What will you be doing? Citizens Advice East Devon are actively seeking Board Members. We are a small local charity who are part of the national network of Citizens Advice offices. Perhaps you have been a management committee member or trustee before, or maybe this is your first time. We are actively looking for people with at least 3 years business, professional or charity background who have something special that they can bring to our organisation. In return for your time – we can provide you with full training, support, mentoring and anything you need to bring the best of yourself.
