We are pleased to be supporting an outstanding comprehensive academy in Hertfordshire to appoint an experienced Director of Finance and Business Operations. Due to popular demand, the school has recently undergone expansion and a multi-million-pound refurbishment programme.
The Director of Finance and Business Operations will drive strategy, manage resources and maintain educational excellence across the school. This role provides financial oversight, compliance, and staff leadership while delivering strategic insights to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Trustees and stakeholders. The aim is to ensure the efficient and effective management of the School's operations.
Key Responsibilities;
1. Serve as Chief Finance Officer, leading the School’s financial strategy, compliance and sustainability
2. Advise the Headteacher, SLT and Trustees on financial matters, strategic risks, and funding agreement compliance
3. Prepare and manage the School's Annual Budget, forecasts, management accounts, and financial reports, including reports for Trustees
4. Lead a team of six including finance and premises
5. Act as Company Secretary, fulfil the role of Data Protection Lead and oversee health and safety
6. Ensure compliance with payroll, pensions, VAT and regulatory requirements
7. Oversee IT systems to support staff and students effectively
