Learning Mentor – Plymouth Location: Plymouth Salary: £80-£90 per day Start Date: Immediate GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to support students in a welcoming school in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in students' academic and personal development, particularly those facing challenges in their education. About the Role As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with students in Key Stages 3 and 4, providing targeted support to help them overcome barriers to learning. This full-time role is ideal for a proactive and compassionate individual who can engage students and foster a positive learning environment. Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to support students' academic progress and emotional well-being. Help students develop confidence, motivation, and resilience in their learning. Assist in identifying and addressing behavioural, social, or emotional challenges. Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and external agencies to implement personalised support plans. Encourage positive attitudes and engagement with learning activities. Requirements A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are mandatory for this role. Previous experience as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, or in a similar role is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs.
