About the Role
We require a Head of Design and Technology who is a well-qualified teacher of Design and Technology with the skills and vision required to further develop a successful, dynamic and innovative department. The department is made up of a highly competent team of experienced practitioners and delivers high quality DT across KS3, 4 and 5. The successful candidate will have a strong grasp of the elements of successful curriculum design and will be an excellent classroom practitioner. They will be dedicated to improving standards and accelerating student progress. This post is ideal for either an experienced leader of DT or someone looking to move into middle leadership.
About the Candidate
* Has a passion for their subject and experience of teaching Design and Technology at KS4 and 5
* Can precision plan and improve the quality of teaching and learning across a department
* Has the skills to develop a curriculum, implement and monitor change
* Can lead and motivate a team towards a shared goal
* Can analyse and use data effectively to ensure rapid and sustained student progress
* Has excellent communication skills with the ability to build excellent parent and student relationships
* Is willing to participate in the wider life and development of the school, including providing enrichment opportunities for students
* Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
