Base pay range
Salary: Up to £61,000 + 15% Bonus + 18% Pension
Location: West Midlands (3 days a week on-site)
Role Overview
We are seeking an IT/OT Engineering Configuration Specialist to oversee and maintain the engineering configurations of IT/OT devices and equipment in a non-production environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring system availability, security, and reliability while supporting both project and business-as-usual (BAU) operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the engineering configurations of IT/OT devices, including firmware and software within test labs.
2. Maintain security standards and ensure compliance with best practices.
3. Support incidents, change management, problem resolution, and configuration requests.
4. Work collaboratively with internal technical teams and external vendors to align IT/OT environment requirements.
5. Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures.
6. Support patch management, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless system upgrades.
7. Oversee engineering configuration tools, including firmware and software version tracking.
8. Contribute to asset management, ensuring optimal lifecycle value and obsolescence planning.
9. Assist in disaster recovery planning and service continuity tests.
10. Support audit and compliance activities across IT/OT environments.
11. Provide technical training and guidance to operational teams on OT configuration.
Skills & Experience Required
1. Degree in Computing, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience/certifications.
2. Strong IT infrastructure knowledge, particularly in Operational Technology (OT).
3. Experience with engineering systems, configurations, and associated tools.
4. Expertise in SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs, and industrial control technologies.
5. Proficiency with ISaGRAF, Crimson, and function block development for OT.
6. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles in IT/OT environments.
7. Experience working in regulated environments (utilities, finance, etc.).
8. Knowledge of Prince2, Agile, Jira, Scrum, and ITIL frameworks.
9. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
10. Part of an on-call & standby rota.
11. Requires additional security vetting due to the operationally critical nature of the role.
