As a Reinforcement Learning Engineer, you will play a key role in building AI models that transition seamlessly from simulation to real-world deployment, enabling groundbreaking robotic manipulation capabilities.
What You’ll Do
* Develop and implement end-to-end robot learning systems using reinforcement and imitation learning techniques.
* Use simulation environments, such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, to train AI agents for robotic manipulation tasks and facilitate Sim-to-Real transfer.
* Create real-time action/reward feedback systems for fine-tuning robot behavior and adaptability.
* Design systems to generalize across multiple tasks, objects, and dynamic environments.
* Enable robots to perform dexterous, high-degree-of-freedom manipulation tasks with precision and efficiency.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate learning systems into physical robots.
* Deliver production-quality, safety-critical software for real-world deployment.
What You’ll Bring
Required Experience:
* Expertise in reinforcement and imitation learning techniques, with a focus on Sim-to-Real transfer for robotic applications.
* Strong programming skills in Python and extensive experience with numerical computing libraries and machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.Hands-on experience with simulation tools like NVIDIA Isaac Sim for training and validating robotic AI models.
* Proven ability to ship AI models for robots used in real-world environments.
Preferred Experience:
* PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field (nice to have).
* Experience deploying robotic systems at scale, particularly in dynamic environments like factories or warehouses.
* Familiarity with distributed deep learning systems for large-scale training.
* Knowledge of tactile or vision-based sensor systems for enhancing robot perception and interaction.
Additional Skills:
* Demonstrated experience in deploying learnt manipulation policies to real robots.
* Expertise in developing scalable, embedded AI solutions for robotic platforms.
* Strong understanding of cutting-edge robotics, reinforcement learning, and AI research.

Location This position is based in Bristol, UK but can be remote for exceptional candidates
