Our client has been proudly supporting jewellers since 1918, offering everything from precious metals to jewellery tools. As part of one of Europe's largest refiners and processors of precious metals, they are now expanding their team to focus on precious metals for luxury, investment bar markets using in-house technologies, including additive manufacturing.
You will join a new, dynamic division dedicated to providing precious metals for industrial applications. This new initiative is vital to our client’s strategic growth, focusing on expanding their offering beyond the jewellery industry. Based in the heart of Birmingham, they are pioneering the future of precious metals.
To help them achieve their vision, they are seeking a motivated and proactive Business Development Manager, who can drive sales and unlock new opportunities in the luxury and investment bars market.
Key Responsibilities
As a new Business Development Manager, you will:
1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities for precious metals in luxury, investment bars and advanced technologies across various industries.
2. Generate new leads and expand the division’s customer base through targeted contact and visits.
3. Manage quoting and follow-up processes to ensure no leads are lost.
4. Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to identify new leads and grow your network of contacts.
5. Work with internal teams to create custom solutions for new customers.
6. Build relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, including manufacturers, distributors, and end-users, to drive growth and increase revenue.
7. Measure progress against defined targets to identify areas of strength and those requiring improvement.
About You
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a sales or business development role within the precious metals industry. You should have a proven track record in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and a strong understanding of the industrial market.
You will demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills and be able to analyse data to inform your decisions. You’ll be comfortable working independently but also enjoy being part of a friendly and supportive team and will have an excellent understanding of the precious metals market.
