Genius Playscheme – Play Support Worker Job Specification
Pay Rate: National Minimum Wage (depending on age)
Job Description:
The Play Support Worker supports the delivery of inclusive, engaging activities for children and young people, including those with additional needs. The role involves assisting with care, communication, and safety, working flexibly in both group and one-to-one settings, and contributing to the planning and evaluation of activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver fun, safe, and inclusive play activities, adapting to meet individual needs.
2. Provide care and support for children and young people, including those with complex needs.
3. Assist with personal care and communication support as required.
4. Follow and implement individual risk management plans.
5. Work effectively in both one-to-one and group settings.
6. Contribute to activity planning and provide feedback.
7. Maintain safe and tidy play areas.
8. Report concerns or incidents to the Senior Playworker or Playscheme Manager.
9. Be a positive role model, demonstrating inclusivity and enthusiasm.

Genius Playscheme – Senior Playworker Job Specification
Pay Rate: £12.50 per hour
Job Description:
The Senior Playworker is responsible for supporting and leading the team of Play Support Workers. This role involves planning and delivering fun, safe, and inclusive activities while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children. The Senior Playworker will also communicate effectively with families and support positive behaviour management across the setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership and daily support to Play Support Workers.
2. Plan, deliver, and oversee stimulating and inclusive play activities.
3. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people.
4. Implement positive behaviour support strategies.
5. Communicate clearly with children, parents, and staff.
6. Assist with activity planning reviews and evaluations.
7. Maintain records and report incidents to the Playscheme Manager.
8. Help induct and mentor new staff.
9. Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all children.
