JOB OVERVIEW
Are you a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) with ambitions to develop your career? An opportunity has arisen to join the Great Yarmouth Community Therapy Service which provides an OT led therapy service for people aged 25 and over who are experiencing mental health problems.
The team provides a Monday - Friday service and offers a programme of foundation, focused and community-based group activities, as well as outreach and one to one assessments and interventions for service users under the care of a Secondary Care Adult Community Mental Health Services.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be enthusiastic, conscientious and provide patient centred care. You will work to ensure that the service is delivered safely and effectively. You will be compassionate, empathetic and sensitive in your approach to people who may be distressed or have a challenging manner.
For newly qualified staff we offer a Trust wide preceptorship programme. Within this role you will need to be able to work independently and travel around the local area independently. You will be involved in all aspects of the OT pathway from assessment to intervention to discharge, working autonomously to provide a range of interventions both on a 1:1 basis and in group work.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* Professional Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council
Experience
* Experience working clinically in a mental health setting
Knowledge
* Basic understanding of Mental Health Act 1983 and updates
* Specialist knowledge of Occupational Therapy Assessments and interventions relevant to this client group
Other
* The ability to travel independently across the Great Yarmouth and Waveney locality
