This post is fixed term from 1st March 2025 to 31st of March 2026 Please state on your Application your preference of either Colchester or Ipswich We are recruiting to maintain a fully staffed rota, seeking passionate doctors who will work alongside our consultants and wider MDT to deliver high quality care and develop our service. There will be opportunity to develop subspecialty interest and support provided with sitting for clinical examination Main duties of the job The clinical duties will include attending to and managing Paediatric patients presenting to Children's Assessment unit, which might include referrals from primary care and Emergency medicine, leading ward rounds and attending to Paediatric emergencies. They will also cover the neonatal unit, postnatal ward and attend to neonatal emergencies on the labour ward and theatres. The post holder will be working closely and overseeing the tier 1 doctors and nurse practitioners on the Tier 1 rota. We are a very supportive group of consultants who will be working closely with the appointee and supervising them. Ipswich is a busy DGH and the post-holder will have a good opportunity to gain wide experience in Paediatrics. There will be a weekly commitment to a general outpatient and a rapid referral clinic and to acute emergency cover; this will depend on the training timetable allocated for each six month period. The doctor will undertake child protection medicals under supervision of the attending consultant.
