RF Designer (Analogue)

A leading defence consultancy is looking for a skilled RF Designer (Analogue) to join their team in Romsey working on diverse projects dedicated to designing and implementing innovative RF systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilize expertise in selecting and integrating Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components into RF designs for HF/VHF systems, including Power Amplifiers, RF power switches, Filters, LNAs, and Antennas.
2. Demonstrate proficiency in antenna matching techniques, impedance analysis, VSWR analysis, and performance optimization for wideband operation.
3. Design Power Amplifiers ranging from 1W to 10kW, ensuring reliability and efficiency for defence applications.
4. Conduct RF simulations using AWR Microwave Office or similar tools to optimize designs and ensure compliance with specifications.
5. Perform Radiation Hazard analysis to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related field.
2. Proven experience in RF design within the defence sector, with a focus on HF/VHF systems.
3. Strong understanding of COTS components selection and integration into RF designs.
4. Expertise in antenna matching, impedance analysis, and VSWR analysis.
5. Experience in Power Amplifier design, simulation, and analysis.
6. Proficiency in RF simulation using AWR Microwave Office or similar tools.
