We have an exciting and interesting opportunity as a Production Operative at West Moors Defence Petroleum Fuel Depot. The depot is part of the the Operational Energy Authority and is responsible for the Dir Sp Ops fuel outputs including future projects, management of business as usual procurement activity and delivery of Fuel, Lubricants and Associated Products (FLAPS) support provided by the Petroleum Depot.
The purpose of this role is to assist in ensuring that operational outputs required of the Petroleum Depot in respect of Oils, Lubricants and Packed fuel supply to the Front Line Commands is met. This is to be carried out by the accurate selection of stock for issue, preparation of paperwork for timely and efficient delivery and/or processing, preparation, washing and filling of jerricans. �
Working in the Logistics Operations team, you will assist us in storing, maintaining and issuing of material and processing the supporting documentation. This is a highly varied and hands on role which will see you support the depot across a full range of activities.
You will be required to select stock for issue, prepare relevant paperwork for timely and efficient delivery, whilst ensuring that receipts are filed for stock received for accurate stock take checks.
Working both individually and as part of a team, you will support all activities related to the inspection and classification of returned jerricans, oil and lubricant pallets, including maintenance and daily servicing of all equipment prior to use.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description
In this role you will be entrusted to:�
Stock Selection
1. Ensure that the commodity and quantity of stock picked matches the details entered on the �Pick List� and is selected from the correct storage location.
2. Check the stock quantity in the storage location before and after each issue and annotate the Stack Tally Card with the correct details.� Ensure that any error is brought to the attention of department manager.
Packaging
3. Pack the stores in accordance with the requirements of the relevant regulations governing the particular mode of transport for the individual consignment.
4. Produce the address label using the Warehouse Management System in use and pass the paperwork to the Traffic Clerk for production of transport documents.Produce the necessary paperwork to enable consignments to move depending on the mode of transport.

5. Conduct routine user maintenance and daily servicing of all equipment prior to use.� Report all faults to the Team Leader.��
6. The inspection and classification of returned jerricans and metal pallets carrying out cleaning, patch painting and minor repairs as required.
7. All serviceable jerricans are to be �processed� which includes the decanting of residual fuel, inspection for serviceability, de-rusting and patch painting where necessary, removal of illegible and application of new markings, replacement of lid seal.
8. Under supervision, the safe operation of jerrican washing and filling equipment in support of the pre-determined filling programme.

9. Conducting decanting operations to either re-pack, or dispose of, fuel and lubricant products; this may include the operation of the Waste Fuel Installation.
Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operation�
This role includes operating a range of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), as well as manual handling & loading / unloading of vehicles and shipping containers. Once in post, you will be expected to undergo a MHE medical prior to be trained to operate this equipment. Training will be provided where necessary with the expectation of achieving competency within 6 months. As a qualified MHE Operator ensure that pre and post operational checks are completed with diligence and accurately recorded.� Any fault found is reported to the MHE Supervisor and obtaining a replacement vehicle if considered necessary.

12. When required, the Production Operative may carry out Duty �On Call� responsibilities for out of hours activities on a rotation basis.
