Job summary MHSOP in York and Selby Locality- The population covered by the service is 285938 of which 96725 are older people. The service provides two inpatient wards, 1 dedicated Memory services, 1 Care Homes and Dementia Team (CHADT),1 Mental Health Assessment and Liaison Team for the elderly (MHALT) and 2 Community Mental Health teams- North-East and South-West (this post holder works with South Team out of the South-West Team) as described further in the job description attached. South CMHT (this post): Older people CMHT service for Southwest York Locality as well as Selby has an over 65 population of about 22000. The CMHT provides Monday Friday 9am - 5pm assessment and treatment services which include the provision of care for older people with functional mental health problems as well as complex organic care for patients in their own homes. The entire southwest team receives about 400 referrals each year. The approximately the South team receives around 50% of the southwest team referral. The post holder is expected to see approximately 6 to 8 new CMHT patients a month. The team implements purposeful and productive community service model. The post-holder is expected see approximately 8 to 10 review CMHT patients a month. At the time of writing this there are no CTO or section 37/41 patients. Usually there is no more than 1 or 2 patients a year per consultant under MHA. Please refer to the attached job description for more information. Main duties of the job This is a replacement (due to current substantive consultant has moved to different local team) substantive less than full-time post though candidates wishing to work full time (10PA) are encouraged to apply. There is a high chance that additional 2PA can be added to make it the post fulltime to backfill another team. As it stands, the Consultant will provide input working to a 6 direct clinical care (6DCC) and 2 supporting professional activities (2SPA) work programme for the South team.
