At Direct Line Group, insurance is just the start. Combining decades of industry experience with talented people in every field from data, technology, customer care and auto repair, to HR, finance and procurement, we’re a customer-obsessed market powerhouse. And we all work together to be brilliant for customers, every single day.
What we're looking for:
We are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst with a Financial or Accounting background who has worked in Financial Services (preferably insurance) as well as Manufacturing.
You'll have strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, and you’ll be able to present and explain financial data clearly to a non-financial audience. You’ll also be able to interpret financial information and act on it, embedding a culture of innovative thinking and analysis targeted at the most critical issues.
You'll be someone who is willing to test, learn and adapt with the intention to transform and improve processes consistently and collaborate effectively across Finance and with a variety of business stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role with two working days a week from our London office.
Who you'll be working with:
You’ll be a member of our Claims Finance team with a focus on our wholly owned garage repair network– providing financial business partnering and analytical support to the Claims Motor Leadership and their teams.
You'll work with a wide variety of Motor Networks stakeholders, aligning their decision making with the Group’s financial objectives, long term value maximisation and strategic priorities.
What you'll be doing:
1. Play a proactive and challenging role within the Claims business unit, ensuring that decisions within our repair centres are aligned to the Group’s financial objectives, long term value maximisation goals and strategic priorities.
2. Build strong, collaborative relationships across Claims and Motor Networks to challenge as well as support.
3. Provide financial and commercial support and analysis to the Claims Leadership and their wider teams. Understand how KPIs and other drivers/trends are impacting financial performance.
4. Present and report the business’ financial performance in a clear and understandable format to the Claims and Motor Networks Leadership teams.
5. Obtain, interpret and utilise effectively financial, actuarial and other operational reports and data from a variety of sources and systems.
6. Deliver robust, credible budgets and forecasts that reflect the strategy, risks and opportunities of the business. Co-ordinate, engage and project manage stakeholders to ensure delivery of budget inputs to agreed timescales. Understand risks and opportunities and ensure that variances to budget are understood, communicated and mitigated where possible. Challenge and support the business in equal measure.
7. Offer financial partnering and investment appraisal expertise to support DLG Auto Services, particularly with respect to investment opportunities, and cost and benefit tracking.
8. Develop and maintain both forecasting and reporting models for DLG Auto Services.
9. Identify opportunities to improve processes or ways of working and work collaboratively to deliver change.
10. Share best practice across the Business Partnering team to help broader team efficiency, effectiveness and capability.
