This is a key post with leading lung cancer charity, Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, to develop and drive community engagement activities on a national level. The role will involve coordinating and delivering community-based events where you will be directly engaging with the general public to improve understanding around lung cancer and the importance of screening.
This is a hybrid role with time spent in the charity’s head office and remote working, plus national travel on a regular basis.
Title: Community Engagement Assistant
Responsible To: Community Engagement Manager
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000
Hours: 34 hours per week (typically Mon-Fri. Some weekend work also required)
Location: Head Office (Liverpool) / Remote Working, with regular travel across the UK
Overall Objective
* To work with the Community Engagement Manager to coordinate and deliver community engagement activities and support charitable objectives.
* To support the Director of Communications and Engagement and Community Engagement Manager in delivering the strategy for the expansion of community engagement activities throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and manage the preparation of community-based events, including sourcing suitable locations, supplying necessary documentation and ordering materials.
* Support in the delivery of community-based events by proactively engaging with the general public.
* Collect and collate data for event evaluations and future funding bids.
* Prepare evaluation reports for the Community Engagement Manager.
* Identify potential partnership and funding opportunities, including local NHS teams and corporate businesses.
* Manage the in-house booking process for community engagement materials.
* Be a visible and proactive representative for the charity.
