Job Description
Post Title: Community Events and Fundraising Manager
Contract: 2 days a week
Place of Work: The Cart Shed, Norton Canon, HR4 8QN
Key relationships: Business Development Manager, Office Administrator, Financial Administrator, Fundraising Committee (volunteer led).
Objective: To generate new income streams that support The Cart Shed’s Funding Strategy by:
* Developing and running a range of community based fundraising events that increases non-grant/Trust income
* Developing and implementing a range of third-party fundraising events that are organised by third parties (not TCS employees) to increase income opportunities
* Developing the capacity of the Fundraising Committee and when appropriate build an in-house fundraising team to further increase income
* Ensuring effective communication between all parties to enable smooth promotion and running of events
Support the Fundraising Committee in all aspects relating to the set up and running of the annual Plant Fair.
Explore opportunities to create a suite of fundraising activities large and small.
Develop opportunities in-house and in communities.
Promote all opportunities (to community groups, organisations and individuals).
Manage fundraising programme and activity including, but not exclusive to a risk assessment, insurance requirements, minutes of fundraising meetings and associated actions.
Work closely with Business Development Manager to ensure timely and appropriate marketing of events and activities.
To be aware of all risk assessments (participants, staff, site environment) for project activity and raise Health & Safety concerns where appropriate.
To undertake other tasks as required to ensure the safe running of all events and fundraising activities.
* Reimbursement of expenses: expenses may be reimbursed, such as mileage and stationery, upon presentation of claim form and receipts by 7th of the month following that in which expenses occurred. Failure to submit expenses form by this date will mean expenses are forfeit.
* Confidentiality: Confidential information concerning the charity, its staff, volunteers, clients and trustees must remain as such at all times, both during and after the period of employment.
* Termination Notice: Either party must give one month’s notice if they decide to terminate the contract. The contract becomes automatically void if one of the party’s contravenes the terms of the contract.

Skills and Abilities
* Able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision E

* Highly developed communication skills E
* Full car driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use E
Knowledge
* Competent working with databases: data input, interrogation, report generation E
* Experience of event delivery and reporting E
* Experience of ensuring GDPR compliance E

* Confident with a high degree of motivation E
* Must work well in a team E
* Must be able to manage a range of tasks in a measured, flexible manner E
Special Conditions
* Ability to travel independently E
* Work occasionally in evenings and at weekends as necessary E
* Able to work from home as well as the Cart Shed office D
The post is subject to a three-month probationary period.
