1:1 support worker in Stotfold for an SEN child studying for her GCSEs (9am, a taxi will collect you both at 9:30 and take you to the SEN school in Bedford and bring you back by 4pm to Stotfold) Full job description Urgent: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant Required Private household Hours: 9am-4pm Monday -Thursday term time Hourly Rate: £16.90 – need to register as self-employed Fixed contract until end of summer term July 2025 – extension will depend on EHCP review Starting date: ASAP Candidate ideally should have UK GCSE and A level qualifications to support client with education. Looking for someone to provide 1:1 support for an 18-year-old female doing GCSEs. Provide support in a variety of settings including home (Stotfold), SEND school (Bedford) and in the community. Duties include educational support to achieve her goals as set out in her EHCP; occasional personal and seizure care including administering rescue medication; as well as social support while promoting independence and companionship. The ideal candidate will be patient and flexible, calm in an emergency, reliable, punctual and have excellent communication skills and a proactive approach. Experience with epilepsy, autism, SEND needs and anxiety desirable but not essential as full training is provided. Driving licence and own car a plus but not essential as transport from home to school is included. Needs to be DBS checked. Qualifying candidates must be: kind, calm, patient, organised, have a good sense of humour and build a good rapport with the young client.
