Role Purpose:
The main function of this role is to support and assist the Site Services Manager in maintaining all areas of the business on a daily basis. The primary responsibility is to ensure machinery and equipment runs smoothly, routinely and correctly, as defined by the Company and contractual requirements.
You will have responsibility to establish, develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with all managers, staff, customers and suppliers of the business.
You will be working at our sites in Nuneaton and Magna Park, Lutterworth.
08:30-17:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Areas of Responsibility:
Electrical:
* Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools in accordance with IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition BS 7671:2018.
* Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
* Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
* Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as insulation resistance tester and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
* Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local situations.
* Install and connect power cables to equipment, such as motors and control panels.
* Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
* Work from ladders & MEWP’s to install, maintain or repair & install equipment, and fixtures.
* Construct and fabricate parts, using hand tools and specifications.
* Install IT infrastructure by installing and patching CAT5e and CAT6 cables from server cabinets to each designated point.
* Install and diagnose faults on access control systems across all sites.
Non-Electrical:
* Perform preventative maintenance.
* Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
* Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.
* Fit new parts and ensure that equipment is working correctly.
* Carry out quality inspections on jobs.
* Liaise with managers, contractors and colleagues.
* Be involved in procurement of equipment, fittings or components.
* Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
* Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs.
* Complete safety checks on buildings, systems and equipment.
* Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
* Maintain records of any work and inspections done on-premises.
* Perform inventory on repair supplies.
* Maintain warehouse and office lights, doors ensuring functionality.
* Make and install new furniture and equipment.
* Ensure all safety systems are functioning properly, including fire alarms and fire doors.
* Perform a functional weekly test on the fire pumps, sprinkler systems and alarm systems.
* Maintain heating systems across all four sites.
* Perform general maintenance tasks for the buildings, such as drywall repair, plastering, carpentry, flooring repair, painting and decorating.
* Detect, identify and repair building issues, like basic problems with the building's electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
* Deliver and pick up materials as needed.
* Load/unload lorries and move heavy equipment with a gas/electrical counterbalance lift.
Knowledge & Skills:
Essential:
* GCSE levels or equivalent in English and Maths.
* Recognised Electrical apprenticeship.
* BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition.
* IT skills.
* Knowledge of principles and practices of organisation, planning, record management and general admin.
* Ability to operate standard office equipment.
* Great communicator.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Positive attitude and drive.
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own.
* Willingness to learn, progress and carry out further studies.
* Analytical and problem solving approach to work.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of logistics or distribution industry.
* Electronic equipment maintenance.
* Circuit design.
