Main purpose of role: The Health & Safety Coordinator will maintain and coordinate the EHS activities at PCI Tredegar site. The role will also assist the EHS Specialist with on-site day-to-day activities to ensure EHS site compliance with Regulatory Requirements and Global EHS Policies. In this role, you will work closely with all departments, providing training and support where required to ensure the implementation of the EHS Global and Site Policies and Procedures. Main responsibilities: - Maintain and publish health and safety information, posters, guides etc, provide expertise and advice to managers and employees. - Manage jointly the Health and Safety database with the EHS Specialist. - Follow up on accidents and near miss reports to ensure effective EHS corrective measures are put in place. - Liaise with colleagues to investigate serious incidents and if necessary report to H&S Executive; review EHS legislation to assist in ensuring compliance and update procedures where applicable. - Support the management of contractors on site by reviewing RAMS, permits to work, monitoring as needed. - Conduct COSHH assessments and Carry out Risk Assessments where required. Assist those who complete the risk assessments. - Be present on the shop floor and conduct Safety Gemba Walks and Safety Inspections as per site requirements to achieve global KPI's. - Maintain first aid requirements (stocks and competencies); report to and act as the secretary to Health & Safety Committee; support the EHS Specialist in their senior responsibilities for health & safety. - Chair the EHS Committee and prepare minutes, ensure communication of any actions and issues discussed at the meeting is cascaded to management as necessary. - Assit EHS Specialist in maintaining the records in support of ISO 14001:2015; actively participate in controlling environmental risks, support EHS Specialist in their responsibilities for environmental issues. - Deliver basic Health & Safety Training / Company Inductions (to cover but not limited to contractors, New Starters etc). - Participate in Health & Safety refresher programme; organise/lead and record all EHS training including first aid, chemical spill, etc., ensuring sufficient numbers of staff are accredited/trained. - Participating in EHS Global calls and best practices information sharing across the EHS network. Regulatory/Industry Responsibilities: General - The job holder is responsible for adhering to PCI SOPs, Health & Safety, GMP and other regulatory guidelines. GMP Requirements Hierarchy - GMP Skill Level 1 is essential for this role(further information regarding GMP Requirements Hierarchy can be obtained at SOP-L&D-001) Qualifications: - Experience/knowledge of current Environmental and Health & Safety regulations, risk management, accident reporting procedures and environmental auditing. H&S qualifications, minimum being NEBOSH General Certificate. - Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. - High Levels of verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. - Motivated, self-starter, able to work without supervision on own initiative on tasks set but is also a team player. - Respect for confidentiality; with ability to interact and develop relationships with colleagues and external contacts. - Excellent time management to meet deadlines.
