Teaching Assistant required to join a Secondary School in Chelmsford.
This is for a special school offering a nurturing, inclusive environment for 65 pupils with SEMH and associated needs with residential provision for fifteen pupils. The school has high expectations for each child to leave as a confident young adult who is well prepared for the future, and will be opening in January 2025!
Salary:
£12.9 - £14 Per hour. Full time.
Job Duties:
* Supporting the teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour
* Assisting students with special educational needs, particularly those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
* Providing one-on-one or small group support to students who require extra help
* Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
* Supporting students in their social and emotional development
Required Qualifications:
* Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
* Understanding of SEMH and experience working with students with similar needs
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team
Education:
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
Experience:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting
Knowledge and Skills:
* Knowledge of strategies to support students with SEMH
* Ability to build positive relationships with students
* Strong organisational skills
* Patience and understanding
Working Conditions:
* Working hours may vary, but generally follow the school timetable
* May require occasional participation in school events or meetings outside of regular hours
* Work primarily takes place within the school setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
