Key Activities:
People
1. Engage, motivate and develop assigned staff.
2. Ensure correct manning levels for assigned line are adhered to and recorded.
3. Through management of General Assistants ensure:
4. Corrective actions from audits are made and maintained.
5. Product and size changeovers are made in accordance with SWP and agreed target times.
6. Departmental hygiene and line cleanliness standards are maintained at all times.
7. Work with technicians and electricians to ensure effective and efficient planned, preventative and reactive maintenance of assets.
8. Implement and monitor compliance to all Company policies, procedures and SWP’s.
9. Carry out HR related procedures, e.g. appraisals and Return to Work Interviews.
Quality
1. Ensure that routine quality inspections are correctly carried out and recorded and that quality instructions are adhered to.
2. Work with all departments to achieve and maintain customer accreditation and BRC standards as outlined on the policy deployment matrix.
3. Assist with investigations into quality failure as required.
Delivery
1. Achieve conformance to target and production plan.
2. Prepare for and conduct shift handovers with other Senior Operators.
3. Provide and deliver information in an agreed format for shift production meeting (handover log).
4. Ensure accurate data is input to the system to allow accurate management information on the agreed KPI’s to be obtained.
5. Adherence to housekeeping, 5S, Lean and HSE standards to maintain green audit status with external customers.
6. Issue General Safety Notices as appropriate.
7. Review and identify improvement opportunities and recommend solutions through use of 3C (Concern, cause and countermeasure) documents and escalation to OCC (Our Contribution Counts).
8. Implement and sustain identified solutions.
HSE
1. Ensure that routine safety inspections are correctly carried out.
2. Report, record and support investigation of near misses and accident/incidents.
3. Issue General Safety Notices as appropriate.
4. Ensure adherence to PPE and HSE policies and procedures (duty of care).
Cost
1. Contribute to the delivery of agreed KPI’s (Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Right First Time, Labour, Material Usage Variance, Operational excellence).
Key Result Areas:

7. Involvement in cleaning and maintenance schedules as required.
8. Collection of downtime and support for Team Managers in line improvements.
