Consultant in Gastroenterology
Hywel Dda Health Board are seeking to employ a dynamic and forward thinking Consultant Gastroenterologist who can contribute to the development of a comprehensive Gastroenterology Service based at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen. Glangwili is one of four sites within the Health Board.
Main duties of the job
* To participate in the provision of a high quality out-patient Gastroenterology service, including patient administration
* To manage Gastroenterology in-patients
* Undertake high quality diagnostic endoscopy procedures
* The post-holder will attend the weekly multidisciplinary meetings and weekly governance meetings
* Active participation in the management and development of the specialty and the introduction of new services
* Contribute to the educational programme, including weekly departmental meetings and teaching

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services.
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

Qualifications
Essential
* Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
* MRCP or equivalent
* On Specialist Register with GMC or CCT due within 6 months of interview date
* Or CESR or equivalent European Qualifications for Specialist Registration
* Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills
Desirable
* Appropriate Higher Degree e.g. MD, PhD or MSc or equivalent
Clinical Experience
Essential
* Broad based experience in Acute General Medicine
* Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
* Knowledge and participation in CPD
* Competence in Acute General Medicine and Gastroenterology
Desirable
* Experience of NHS
* Wider experience, research and training in providing sub specialty service
* Evidence of above average performance
* Additional clinical qualification(s)
