Responsibilities
Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Project Manager to join our PMO Europe team. This role will focus on managing and supporting the execution of Operational (Customer Onboarding and Improvements) projects within our temperature-controlled facilities. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Operations and/or Project Management within a Supply Chain environment and is eager to take ownership of projects from planning through execution. Warehouse Engineering and construction experience is an additional benefit.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Coordination (40%)
1. Oversee day-to-day project activities, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
2. Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure smooth project implementation.
3. Identify and address project risks, escalating issues when necessary.
4. Ensure project documentation is up to date and properly maintained.
Project Planning & Preparation (30%)
1. Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
2. Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
3. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather requirements and identify potential constraints.
4. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards during planning.
Stakeholder & Resource Management (20%)
1. Collaborate with cross-functional project teams and involved/supporting functions (site teams, maintenance, IT, QESH, and operations) to align project objectives with business needs.
2. Communicate regularly with stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and adjustments.
3. Manage relationships with external vendors, engineers, and contractors.
Process Improvement & Compliance (10%)
1. Identify opportunities to improve project execution processes and operational efficiency.
2. Ensure all projects adhere to Americold’s safety and quality standards.
3. Participate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and best practices.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Design, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Around 5 years of experience in operations or project management within a supply chain environment.
3. Hands-on experience managing customer onboardings, technical, or facility-related projects.
4. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
6. Knowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements in an industrial environment.
7. Willingness to travel within Europe as needed.
8. Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational setting.
Note: To IT Project Managers: we appreciate your interest, but this role is all about logistics. If your expertise lies in servers and IT processes rather than supply chains, this might not be the right fit.
